Biography:
Dr. C. O. Mohan is a Principal Scientist in the Fish Processing Division at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi, India. He obtained his Ph.D. and M.F.Sc. in Post-Harvest Technology from ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai, and his B.F.Sc. from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. His research focuses on active and intelligent packaging, smart packaging systems, thermal processing, and the development of functional fish products. His current work includes the development of innovative products from aquatic resources, shelf-life modelling and assessment, food safety hazard mitigation in fish and fishery products, marine biomolecule characterization and utilization, and agribusiness incubation initiatives. Dr. Mohan has received several recognitions, including the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for Post-Graduate Agricultural Research (2009) from ICAR and the Dr. Karunasagar Best Post-Graduate Thesis (Ph.D.) Award (2009). He has also authored numerous research publications in the fields of fish processing, packaging technology, food safety, and seafood preservation.
